Activities and Outreach

Listed below are some extracurricular activities that I participated in during my time at Clemson.

Sexual Assault Victim Advocate

As a Crisis Hotline Responder and Victim Advocate, I offered immediate support to victims by responding to crisis hotline calls. I accompanied clients during emergency room visits, ensuring their security and support. Additionally, I facilitated clear communication between clients, law enforcement, SANE nurses, and advocacy center staff. Advocating for and empowering victims is essential, ensuring they are heard and respected during their vulnerable moments. It was a privilege to serve people during such challenging times in their lives.

Home Health Aide

As a home health aide, I provided personal caregiving services in accordance with an established plan of direct care. Also, I assisted patients with activities of daily living, housekeeping, errands, and companionship. I got to meet many wonderful people through this experience, and it was fulfilling to see how small gestures on my part could make their lives much easier.

Medical Scribe

As a remote medical scribe working in the Emergency Department (ED), I accurately documented patient information into the Electronic Health Record and collaborated with physicians to ensure all patient details were included. I was fascinated by the medical terminology I learned for this position and gained experience with a range of conditions in the ED.
