About Me

Hi! My name is Marissa Coll and I am a graduating senior with a Bachelor's of Science in Spanish and International Health. Since elementary school, my mom has always encouraged me to become proficient in another language, in particular Spanish, as a life skill and to broaden my knowledge of other cultures. Coming to Clemson, I wanted to find a way to combine my love of language learning with my interests in medicine and global health studies. This major has offered me the perfect outlet to pursue these combined interests. During my time at Clemson, I have been fortunate enough to take a variety of courses that have expanded my knowledge base about health systems both in the United States and abroad. My coursework has refined my interests in medicine and improved my cultural competency, which are crucial in understanding various populations as a health professional. Additionally, my semester abroad in Cordoba, Argentina provided me with unforgettable memories with my host family, new friends, and health professionals at the clinic I interned at. I hope to embody the resilience and kindness I observed in the physicians in Argentina as I pursue my own career as a physician after graduating. I am excited to see what the coming years will bring in achieving both personal and academic goals!
